We are very honored to announce that Taku from Tao Of Sound will perform at The White House for the PBS Special “In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul”!
He will be playing percussion in the house band under the direction of Greg Phillinganes and will be backing up:

– Patti LaBelle
– Melissa Etheridge
– Janelle Monae
– Jill Scott
– Ariana Grande
– Tessanne Chin
The President and First Lady will invite music legends and major female artists to the White House for a celebration of the great “foremothers” of American music with songs expressing the struggles and achievements of women.
The entire event will be streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov on Thursday, March 6th at 7:30 PM ET.
This will be his second time performing for the President Obama.
Taku Hirano is one of the top percussionists on the touring and recording circuit.
He has performed with numerous famous artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Usher, and more.
